1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using ResearchBanana ("the Service") at researchbanana.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you may not access our Service.

ResearchBanana is operated by Integrated Intelligence ("we", "us", "our"). These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and subscribers of the Service.

2. Description of Service

ResearchBanana is an AI-powered platform for generating publication-ready academic illustrations, diagrams, and statistical plots. The Service utilizes multi-agent AI pipelines, including generative AI models, to process user inputs and produce visual outputs.

Key capabilities include:

• AI-powered figure generation from methodology text descriptions
• Statistical plot generation from raw data via code execution
• Image polishing against NeurIPS-style publication guidelines
• Document and data file upload for contextual generation
• Iterative refinement through multi-agent critique cycles

3. User Accounts

To access certain features, you must create an account using a valid email address. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account information updated. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account.

4. Credits and Payments

The Service operates on a credit-based system. Credits are consumed when generating or polishing images. Credit costs vary by operation:

• Standard generation: Cost depends on iteration count and complexity
• Image polishing: 1 credit per polish operation
• File attachments: May incur additional credit cost

Credits are non-refundable once consumed. Failed generations due to API errors may result in credits being deducted; in such cases, contact support for credit restoration. Purchased credits do not expire.

Subscription plans may include monthly credit allowances. Unused subscription credits do not roll over to subsequent billing periods unless explicitly stated in your subscription terms.

5. AI-Generated Content

Content generated by the Service is produced by third-party AI models (including Google Gemini and Imagen). While we strive for accuracy and quality, we cannot guarantee that AI-generated outputs will be:

• Free from errors, inaccuracies, or hallucinations
• Suitable for any specific purpose without review
• Compliant with specific journal submission guidelines
• Free from potential copyright or intellectual property concerns

You are solely responsible for reviewing, verifying, and ensuring the accuracy of any AI-generated content before using it in publications, presentations, or any other context. We strongly recommend thorough human review of all generated figures before submission.

6. Intellectual Property

Your content: You retain ownership of all input materials you provide to the Service (methodology text, data files, uploaded images). By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service.

Generated outputs: Subject to the terms of the underlying AI model providers, you may use the generated illustrations for academic, research, and commercial purposes. However, the intellectual property status of AI-generated content may vary by jurisdiction. It is your responsibility to ensure compliance with applicable laws and journal policies regarding AI-generated imagery.

Our content: The Service's website design, user interface, branding, software code, and documentation are the intellectual property of Integrated Intelligence and are protected by copyright and trademark laws.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service to generate misleading, fraudulent, or deceptive scientific content
• Fabricate, falsify, or misrepresent data in generated visualizations
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the AI models or proprietary algorithms
• Use automated tools to excessively consume credits or overload the Service
• Share account credentials or allow unauthorized users to access your account
• Use the Service to generate illegal, harmful, or offensive content
• Circumvent credit deduction, rate limiting, or other protective mechanisms

8. Service Availability

We aim to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to:

• Scheduled or emergency maintenance
• Third-party AI model provider outages or changes
• Infrastructure failures or network issues
• Security incidents requiring immediate response

We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of planned downtime in advance. No refunds or credits will be issued for service interruptions.

9. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party providers including Google (Gemini AI, Imagen), Amazon Web Services (S3 storage), Supabase (authentication, database), and PayPal (payments). Your use of the Service is also subject to the terms and policies of these providers.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR ACCURACY OF GENERATED CONTENT.

We do not warrant that AI-generated outputs will be suitable for publication, free from scientific errors, or appropriate for your specific use case.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, INTEGRATED INTELLIGENCE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, RESEARCH TIME, OR PUBLICATION OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the total amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

12. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account at our discretion, with or without notice, for violations of these Terms or for any other reason. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Any unused credits at the time of termination are forfeited.

You may delete your account at any time by contacting support. Deletion of your account will result in permanent removal of your account data, generation history, and any stored files.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a prominent notice on the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
